Following the Munich air disaster Bishop Auckland FC were asked if they could send players to help Manchester United field a team, which they duly obliged by sending 3 of their best players, Derek Lewin, Bobby Hardisty and Warren Bradley.

Bishop Auckland Football Club are now trying to raise funds and have asked Manchester United fans to help by donating money to buy bricks in "Bishop Auckland Football Club new commemorative Wall" further cementing our indelible link between the two clubs. The bricks will commemorate all 23 people who lost their lives, after a plane crash in Munich on 6th February 1958.

Any money raised over and above the target will be shared equally with a worthy cause nominated by Manchester United Football Club and Bishop Auckland FC Supporters Club of which the proceeds will be used to support youth development with in the first team squad.
