Stanley and Supporters' Trust sign Memorandum of Understanding

Accrington Stanley and the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters' Trust (OASST) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalise structured dialogue between the two.
Stanley's Managing Director, David Burgess, and the OASST's Chairman, Peter Leatham, put pen to paper at the Wham Stadium this morning.

MOU's were introduced to encourage engagement between football clubs and their supporters, and followed a Government led group identifying a need for an increase in structured dialogue.

The document details the timeframe for regular meetings and the agreed agenda of the meetings.
David Burgess said: "We have a fabulous relationship with the OASST that we are very proud of, the MOU formalises that relationship and ensures that it continues to flourish.

"As a small club we value all our supporters and continue to work with the OASST in improving our facilities and enhancing the experience for fans at Accrington Stanley.

"The amounts generated in fundraising by the OASST, to help us to continue to grow, have been tremendous and we look forward to more projects being jointly delivered in due course."

Peter Leatham added: "As a newly incorporated Trust, under the guidance of the FSA, we are delighted to sign the MOU.

"We have always enjoyed regular and healthy dialogue with the club and this just formalises and makes the activity visible to a wider audience.

"We as a Trust are firmly committed to continuing our work with the club, in the interest of our fast-growing membership and we will update our members through the www.onstanleyon.com website.

"We would also ask that any issues that fans would like us to address with the club are sent to chair@onstanleyon.com, and we will discuss at the next meeting."

Stanley's Owner, Andy Holt, said: "Our fans are important in putting together our plans we always value their input and views.

"By signing this Memorandum of Understanding we confirm our commitment to continuing dialogue with supporters and developing our special club together."
